The birthdays keep coming
These are rather old photos (from last week).. I’ve been taking photos with my phone camera, and haven’t really touched my DSLR much. We’ve been spending a lot of time in Berkeley lately, and haven’t even been to the city much.
We had lovely dim sum at Oakland today though, stepping into the Chinatown there, you really feel like you’ve entered into a whole other world. Suddenly EVERYONE is Chinese, and speaking Cantonese. We ate at this Chinese restaurant that could easily be mistaken for a restaurant in Singapore or Shanghai. There was literally not a single white person, and the service staff have problems understanding you if you speak English (seriously..). Somehow, we managed to order our food, and all my years of living in a home where smatterings of Cantonese are spoken almost everyday came in useful (whatever I could actually speak). The food was so good, and it was so comforting to have Siew Mai, Yang Zhou Fried Rice, and Chee Cheong Fun! I think I have some photos, which I’ll post up later :)
